Bride and Groom Wedding Gifts
Feb 02,2016

It’s traditional in some places for the bride and groom to give one another gifts on their wedding day. These gifts are important, as they have tremendous emotional value for both the giver and the receiver. The solemn nature of the event could make choosing a gift for your bride or groom feel overwhelming, but in truth you already have all the answers you need. Here’s some things to consider when you’re choosing a wedding gift for your bride or groom.

It’s All About the Two of You:

Your wedding day is a symbol for two lives joining as one. Thus, consider a gift for your bride or groom that focuses on the life between you, not on just one person alone. While jewelery or cologne is romantic, it doesn’t really tie into the symbolism of your marriage. Pick a gift that you can use and will enjoy together, as a signifier of all the joy you see in your life ahead.

No, It’s REALLY All about the Two of You:

Everyone’s relationship is different: some couples thrive on maintaining their romance, others greatly value their partner as someone to goof around and play with, while still others place their highest value on the sense of partnership and commitment they feel from the other person. Spend some time thinking about what you value most about your relationship, and try to tie your bride or groom’s gift into that thought. A board game for all of the fun nights ahead, a suite upgrade for you honeymoon, even matching tattoos could be a great gift for you to share together.

It Doesn’t Need to be Pricey:

Chances are, you’ve invested quite a lot into your wedding and may not have a huge amount of cash to spare for extra gifts. Don’t be discouraged, a gift from the heart can mean just as much as one covered in diamonds. Write your bride and groom a special love note on beautiful paper, letting them know how much they mean to you. Create a photo album of all the important moments from your relationship so far- you can even draw pictures (stick figures count!) for moments that didn’t include a handy camera. Your future spouse loves you for much more than financial status, so don’t worry that a simple, inexpensive gift is lacking. As long as it has strong emotional value, it will still mean just as much, if not more.
